Live! From the South Pole!
Not really, but this is the perfect video from the Star Tribune to encapsulate the show.
IT IS COMING.
Seriously, my play Looking for Fun(Bags) is actually opening this Thursday. On a real stage with actual costumes and actual set pieces and my goodness, actual beer and fortune cookies! What have we created??? Check out the two videos below- the first is our official trailer while the second is a sneak-peak at the insanity.
Today saw the closing of my first professional show in the Twin Cities (we did rehearse in Minneapolis and perform in St. Paul, after all), The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder and I have to say it was a really special one for me. Beyond it being my first, it was the welcome wagon to the incredible theatre scene here. I moved in May 25th and our first read through was the 26th.
It was a gorgeous production from Girl Friday Productions that featured an ensemble of twelve of the best actors I have ever known! The direction was bar-none, of course, and the designers really brought 1880s NYC to life for me. I could go on and on about the experience but I will let this trailer speak to the adventure.
“Even if I have to dig ditches for the rest of my life, I’ll be a ditch-digger who once had a wonderful day!”
The short film I co-produced with Mischief Film, The Fool, is receiving its premiere at the NewFilmmakers NY Spring Series! It will be shown April 8 at the Anthology Film Archives, so if you are in New York City please go check it out!
Written and directed by Max Hannam, The Fool tell the story about a young man hounded by uncertainty and fleeing from the police, who flirts with love and an idyllic life while on the run.
I am super excited to share the trailer to the short film, The Fool, from Mischief Films! Directed by my brother Max Hannam, we co-produced this beauty last spring and are currently submitting it to film festivals across the country. We have high hopes, so check it out for yourself!
